This park is ok, but employees could be weird.. Or contractors.. The guy was using blower and made such a mess...Everything was in the air, and you could even hardly see him. Imagine having new boat,… Full review by rusliku

Lake Sammamish is a beautiful lake, but more for boating, paddle boarding, and swimming than hiking. In fact there's like no real hiking. If you go further out Interstate 90 to Rattlesnake Lake, which is not far (maybe 10-15 miles), there is a great hike up to Rattlesnake Ridge, and a flatter trail around the lake. About the same distance in Mount Si, and there's a challenging trail (really crowded on the weekends, not so much week days, and fairly steep). Also, there's an area called "Issaquah Alps" with a number of trails. If you go further east, over Snoqualmie Pass, there are TONS of trails, including some up to small lakes.

Besides the boat launch, I believe most of the shore is private property. Although there are a few spots along the shore where the trails approach, quite possible you could find a little oasis. But I wouldn’t bet on it either.

Q:
Are beach tent or sun shelters allowed on the beach?
A:
I don't recall seeing signs prohibiting them, but to be sure you might want to call them before lugging your equipment there.
Q:
Do you sell Discover pass to enter the Sammamish State Park?
A:
Yes, you can buy a discover pass as you enter the park. There is limited staffing in the winter so I'm not sure of the protocol then. Enjoy Welcome to Wa State
