Future Titanfall games won't be exclusive to Microsoft: Respawn CEO

Titanfall franchise will no longer be exclusive for Microsoft

Respawn Entertainments CEO Vince Zampella has now confirmed that the Titanfall franchise will no longer be exclusive for Microsoft. Vince revealed in his recent interview with GameInformer that Xbox exclusivity ends with Titanfall and that the team now has two games in development.

GameInformer asked whether Respawn Entertainment had plans to make another Titanfall game to which Vince replied “Respawn Entertainment does want to make more Titanfall.” Vince then went on to state that Respawn’s future projects “will not necessarily be exclusive”. GameInformer then asked Vince whether the Microsoft exclusivity deal included just the first Titanfall series to which he replied: “Just this one.”

This is great news for PS owners, especially since Respawn Entertainments recently revealed that they now have two teams working on two separate projects, one of which is not related to Titanfall. So these two titles will not be available for both consoles.

Respawn Entertainment is now developing two new games

In the same interview with Zampella, the Respawn CEO went on to discuss what it’s been like since launching the game and finishing up the season pass for Titanfall. It was revealed earlier this year that former God of War III director Stig Asmussen has now joined Respawn Entertainment and it looks like he will be working on a separate project at Respawn that is not related to Titanfall.

GameInformer asked Vince about the next game on Respawn’s list. This was in regards to Stig’s hiring to which Vince replied, “There is a second team. Non-Titanfall related.” But so far there has been no news from the Respawn CEO on if the upcoming game would be a part of the deal with EA or whether there would be a new publisher involved.

But even so, it looks like fans will now have two games to look forward to. The new game might also have a free-to-model since Vince had stated earlier in the same interview that the team has considered it. Hopefully, we will hear more from the Respawn team at next year’s E3.
