Married Mother, Tennessee Teacher Of Gifted Kids Arrested For Sex With Student

A Haywood Middle School prodigy teacher in Brownsville, TN, who teaches gifted students throughout the county, has been accused of sleeping with a 17 year-old high school student.

Abby Hooper, 33, a married mother of three kids reportedly in October of 2012 had a sexual relationship with a 17 year-old student when she was age 32 at that time.

The arrest of Abby Hooper came after a request was made by Haywood County School Board, which led to her arrest on last week.

Hooper was charged with aggravated statutory rape and has since been released.

Hooper, who also teaches at Sunny Hill School, Haywood County Schools, Brownsville, Tennessee (Sunny Hill Innovative Learning Center), has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

Hooper is due back in court February 26.
