Happy Star Wars Day, movie fans! And it's also Free Comic Book Day! It's May 4th, which means it's the only day where everyone can freely say "May the 4th be with you" and not get laughed at (or maybe you still will, who knows). Since we've entered a new era with a bunch of new Star Wars movies on the horizon, it's especially worthwhile making mention of the geeky holiday to keep everyone in high spirits as we wait two more years until Episode 7 hits theaters in 2015. If you're near any Disney Theme Parks, they're hosting events, or you can stop by a comic book store and I'm sure it'll be easy to start a discussion about Star Wars.
Here are a few fun Star Wars bits from around the web to highlight. Up first is an amusing, cute animated video made by 1A4STUDIO showing the entire story of Episode IV: A New Hope in 60 seconds. Watch:
If you haven't seen it yet, there is an amazing Imgur gallery of 1,138 behind-the-scenes photos from the making of Star Wars, the original trilogy, all the sets and costumes and special effects. Click for full gallery:
Our friends at SlashFilm scored a great exclusive - hand-written pages from screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan of the first draft of The Empire Strikes Back, provided by the Writers Guild Foundation Archive. This one below shows some of the dialogue between Yoda and Luke. They have more pages if you click the image:
"For my ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is. All life feeds it and makes it grow." Nice. Whether you're out enjoying the beautiful summer day, picking up free comic books, seeing Marvel's Iron Man 3, or staying inside and watching Star Wars, we hope you have a fantastic day, and once again… May the 4th be with you!
